What a moment! Have you ever seen a former player from a different sport stealing the show on the biggest day of the NFL season? Well, perhaps that’s just Serena Williams’ thing! We all know Williams’ love for dancing. For instance, she once revealed, “I love ballet, and I wanted to be a ballet dancer.” Well, surprising everyone with a cameo in rapper Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show is a different element. Serena Williams showcased her incredible dance moves in front of a sell-out crowd at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. How did her followers and her biggest fans react to her incredible Super Bowl performance?
The 43-year-old tennis legend donned a monochromatic blue mini skirt and shirt, along with a white undershirt. Even her beautiful blonde curls were literally a showstopper at this mega event! However, her performance surpassed every other notable thing on this big day.
We know Serena Williams and Kendrick Lamar are both from Compton, California. Their unique camaraderie was portrayed when Serena Williams made her appearance on stage during Kendrick Lamar’s performance of ‘Not Like Us’. The crowd erupted in joy seeing their favorite tennis star having the time of her life dancing to the Drake diss track.

Previously, there were a few rumors about Serena Williams’ relationship with Drake. There have been several controversies surrounding the two in the past as well. Interestingly, in the song ‘Not Like Us’, Lamar is seen taking a little dig at Drake and warning him to “not speak on Serena.”
Williams even uploaded a few glimpses of that iconic day on her social media accounts. In one of those posts, she captioned, “Let’s go Super Bowl halftime??! I died a little!” She looked quite ecstatic after getting the chance to showcase her dancing skills on this big day, but what did her husband, Alexis Ohanian say about his wife’s incredible performance?
Serena Williams’ husband was spotted showcasing his support for his wife. He shared a few pictures capturing some of the iconic moments from the 2025 Super Bowl. In one of those posts, there was a GIF highlighting Serena Williams’ dance moves during Lamar’s performance. Ohanian captioned the series of pictures with, “Super Halftime Show.” Even his Los Angeles Golf Club shared a post with a similar GIF on their X handle with the caption, “Highlight of the Super Bowl @serenawilliams @alexisohanian.“

Her elder sister, Venus Williams, was seen sharing her thoughts on Serena’s Super Bowl performance through a tweet. She perhaps tried to give out a bit of testament to Serena Williams’ iconic moment from the 2012 London Olympics by saying, “You did that!!! 💙✨ @serenawilliams,” in the captions.
Japanese tennis star, Naomi Osaka, seemed to be in sheer disbelief. Reacting to Serena Williams’ performance, she tweeted, “Oh nooooo 😭😭😭.” Both Naomi Osaka and Coco Gauff are two of the biggest fans of Serena Williams in the current generation of women’s tennis players. Even Coco Gauff shared a similar reaction, saying, “Serena is the 🐐! icon doing iconic things,” in one of her tweets. Then in another tweet, she wrote, “Loved the show and serena ate that. I love rap music and hip hop culture man. shoutout to sza too & K dot 🐐 🔥 and #SamuelLJackson narrating was just chef kiss. well thought out.”
Renowned tennis journalist Bastien Fachan also looked stunned seeing Serena Williams perform at the 2025 Super Bowl. He tweeted, “KENDRICK BROUGHT SERENA WILLIAMS ON STAGE OMGGG.” Williams’ childhood coach, Rick Macci, even got reminded of an adorable featuring the Williams sisters. Shortly after Serena Williams’ performance, Macci shared a tweet and revealed, “They were always Dancing on the court. Always! Even getting a drink Venus and Serena would be Dancing doing the Compton Shuffle. I never saw two kids practicing footwork every single day without practicing footwork. WHOA! @Venuseswilliams @serenawilliams.”
