Super Bowl 2024: Did Serena Williams’ Daughter Influence Father Alexis Ohanian’s Final Pick?

Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian recently picked the Kansas City Chiefs to win their second Super Bowl in a row. The Reddit co-founder has been spotted at many Chiefs games and has been full of praise for Taylor Swift for her impact on the NFL’s TV ratings. Interestingly, his support for this particular team could be closely related to his daughter’s love for Swift.

Among his wide portfolio of interests in various sports, Alexis Ohanian keeps posting updates that depict his true fanship for the team. But could her daughter’s choice be a reason for his Super Bowl pick?

Olympia is a fan of “the red team”

On October 23 last year, Alexis Ohanian took to X to reveal that his daughter, Olympia, has become a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs after she saw famous pop star Taylor Swift supporting them. In his tweet, Ohanian wrote “My daughter has just declared she’s a fan of “the red team” because she sees @taylorswift13 cheering for them.” 

Taylor Swift attended the game between the Chiefs and the LA Chargers which saw Travis Kelce’s side win 31-17. It appears Olympia is more of a Swiftie than a Chiefs fan. His father, Ohanian, has also expressed his admiration for Swift. In October 2023, Ohanian replied to a tweet on X that highlighted how Swift’s presence at games has boosted NFL ratings.

Ohanian tweeted, “Another example of women carrying the sports industry 😄 Attention is everything.” In his tweet about Olympia supporting Chiefs due to Taylor Swift, Ohanian later added that he tried to make his daughter understand the football dynamics in the family but to no avail.

Olympia goes off the family track to pursue her love for Taylor Swift

Olympia’s love for Taylor Swift led her to follow football, and by doing so, she unintentionally went off the track from her family. Serena Williams, who is already the owner of the team Dolphins, now has her daughter supporting her rival.

Presenting the fact in a witty manner, Ohanian replied on his earlier tweet, “I calmly explained to her that Mama is an owner of the Dolphins and Papa cheers for the Commanders. She did not care.”

It seems Olympia has chosen her team as she follows Taylor Swift in backing the Chiefs. Ohanian has predicted Kansas City Chiefs to beat the San Francisco 49ers, 35-24. His daughter will hope he gets the prediction spot on.
