Alexandrova defeated the number one by 6-4,6-2. Iga Swiatek had managed to hit 7 aces and committed 4 double faults throughout the match. Her first-serve win percentage was 75% and her second-serve win percentage was 72% in that match. Swiatek won 9 of her service games against Alexandrova. Elise Mertens has only managed to reach the fourth round on three occasions at the French Open in her entire career so far. It’s Merten’s calm and composure versus Swiatek’s aggressive brand of tennis. Iga Swiatek won the title here twice in her career but Merten’s best result was reaching the first round in 2019 at this tournament. Iga Swiatek has a win-loss record of 22-3 this season while Elise Mertens has a record of 12-9.
