Maria Sharapova encountered numerous hardships to make it big in her career. From leaving her country, Russia, when she was less than 10 years old and facing a temporary ban from tennis due to the use of a prohibited substance, she came a long way to climb the ladder of success. However, her talent and wins were snubbed by her former manager, Max Eisenbud. He looked down at the Russian legend and disregarded her as one of the worst players he had ever witnessed.
As expected, the internet went berserk with this statement, and Sharapova’s fans did not spare the IMG agent. Twitterattis reminded the IMG Vice President how much he benefited from Sharapova and slammed him for the negative comments.

Fans have their own way of destroying anyone who speaks ill of their icon. Though Eisenbud owed his career to Sharapova, in ‘The Tennis Podcast,’ he degraded Sharapova by saying, “I mean, I tell people all the time, she?s probably the worst athlete that and I?ll tell her if she was here, the worst athlete to ever win a Grand Slam. And she can?t throw she can?t pass. She has no touch.”
This got on fans’ nerves, and Twitterattis came in unison to display their power and shredded Eisenbud’s statement to pieces.
A user wrote the achievements of Sharapova to the world and commented,
The so-called worst athlete to ever win a Grand Slam is also one of the only two female players (with Serena) able to complete the Career Grand Slam in the 21th Century. I don’t think you can do this only thanks your mental strength https://t.co/7FqzqDaw4n

There is a good reason for the fans to give it back to the tennis agent as Sharapova did not have it easy in her career. She was recognized by another tennis legend, who also immigrated to the US to play professional tennis and made history with her game. The Russian worked for more than 12 years to reach the peak, and all of it was dismissed by one negative comment.
Maria Sharapova worked hard for almost 3o years before retiring in 2020
The 5 times Grand Slam champion started playing tennis before she even joined school. She held a racket when she was 4 and officially hung her racket when she was 32 years and 10 months old. The Russian embarked on her professional journey at age 6 when she met Martina Navratilova at an exhibition event in Moscow.
On Navratilova’s suggestion, Sharapova moved to the US and trained under coaches like Rick Macci and Nick Bollettieri, among others. The tennis prodigy signed with IMG when she was just 9 years old and was managed under Eisenbud for no less than two decades. The Russian star won her first Wimbledon Championships title when she was just 17 years old, by defeating the defending champion Serena Williams in straight sets.
