Simona Halep, the Romanian superstar has been going through a lot of stuff over the years. Back at the US Open in 2022, she failed a normal drug test and then some irregularities in her biological passport handed her a temporary ban from the sport. However later, she was handed a 4-year ban. But, hoping to uplift her ban, she raised her concerns to CAS which eventually agreed to listen to her hearing in February next year.
Now, the Romanian star faces a crucial moment as she waits anxiously for the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to deliver a crucial verdict. With her career hanging in the balance over this impending decision, the stakes couldn’t be higher for the athlete who has dedicated her life to the sport. However, a high success rate from the CAS could be a sign of relief for her.

Simona Halep faces a tough situation with her career hanging on the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s (CAS) decision. She’s worried that a four-year ban could end her career, even though she says she’s innocent. But there’s a positive side, CAS has a good track record, solving problems well 85% of the time.
Speaking about the same in the interview, she revealed how she felt at this particular point and how, if things did not go her way, her career would be next to finish. She further went ahead to add that getting a ban for something that she did not do would be catastrophic for her.
“I think so, yeah, because four years is going to be a lot, for my age at least. And for an athlete who has done this thing every day for 25 years and dedicated their life to tennis and to sport I don’t know how it’s going to be, but it’s catastrophic if it’s going to be four years, and I don’t know how I will handle it. Probably, it’s going to be the end of my career, yes. And for something that I didn’t do and that is not my fault, it’s even more catastrophic,” said Halep in the interview.
