Serena Williams‘ husband Alexis Ohanian made a remark that no one saw coming. While the world is in awe of his affectionate displays of love for Olympia, the Reddit co-founder made sure he was impartial. Ensuring a similar opportunity for his youngest daughter, Adira, Alexis Ohanian proved why he deserves applause for inspiring young fathers with a responsible take on his role.
Ohanian dropped an interesting revelation about investing money in a trust that made his daughters multi-millionaires. When the Reddit co-founder’s daughter turned two, she became a professional sports team youngest owner with her parents. The team is called Angel City FC, the Los Angeles-based National Women’s Soccer League team. Alexis’ great acts of fatherhood have already labeled him an inspiration to many and his investment for his daughters presents his incredible vision for his family. However, his statement offers an interesting turning point, where he showcased no extra love for his elder daughter, Olympia.
“And so the good news it, I set that up, it’s not just for Olympia but all of our future kids, sorry Olympia, and they are now actually because of this latest round, they’re literally multimillionaires because of that one investment four years ago. So there’s a part of that that makes me feel really good, which was like, hey, saw something early, obviously my kids are going to be fine. And so that feels good,” Ohanian said on The Twenty Minute VC podcast.

One of the smartest things I did when I was getting started with @weareangelcity is invest an extra $250k in a trust for our kids, so my daughter could become the youngest owner of a pro sports team.
It was valuable for marketing, sure, but it also aligns with my #1 priority:… pic.twitter.com/lLKqbsFkbC

His revelations showcased the responsible side of his personality, breaking the notion that Ohanian has a special place for Olympia in his heart. The Reddit co-founder might walk extra miles for her, but his youngest daughter Adira also holds an important place in Ohanian’s life. Adira joined her big sister as an investor in TGL, a tech-infused Gold League by Tiger Woods and Rory Mcllroy. She is also an investor in Angel City FC, which makes her the youngest owner of two professional athletic teams.
Alexis Ohanian’s vision for his $250K investment wasn’t just a part of great marketing but he had a vision for the future world. That vision also showcases his generosity as a businessman and his responsible nature as a father.

At the beginning of his response in The Twenty Minute VC podcast, Ohanian said that part of his wish to invest in his daughters’ names was for valuable marketing. “I said ‘listen, I believe it’s gonna help this deal a lot if I can invest 250Kpersonally via a trust for my daughters, because the storytelling around ‘Serena and Alexis’ daughter is the youngest owner in pro sports.’ That’s going to be valuable for helping us tell the story of why this is great marketing.” However, his plans were more depthful. He wanted to invest on behalf of his family to create opportunities for female athletes.
