Recently, the elder Williams sister opened up about how Serena played a key role in her career.
During their childhood days, they practiced the sport together under the watchful eyes of their father, Richard Williams. The hard work done early on in their careers bore fruit as they went on to achieve legendary status in tennis.

Venus lauds Serena Williams for her success
During an interview, the seven-time Grand Slam champion narrated how Serena helped her in shaping her career. Talking about this, Venus said, “She’s been my role model. No one knows more what I’m going through than she does. She’s someone who understands me without even saying a word.”
Further, she added, “I know that it’s unusual to have a sibling in sports, but it is the only experience I know so I can’t imagine not having one. From what I understand, 99 percent of people do it alone but I never had to.”
Talking about some of her favorite moments with Serena, she said, “My favorite moments are probably the Olympics together. I have so many moments just sharing and watching her and just being in awe of how she could play.”

Venus and Serena went on to become one of the most iconic doubles teams in women’s tennis. During their illustrious careers, they clinched 14 Grand Slam doubles titles as a team. Additionally, they also have won three Olympic gold medals in women’s doubles, in 2000 Sydney, 2008 Beijing, and 2012 London Olympic games.
