Soccer is a team game, and so is our life. Currently, Czech professional tennis player Karolina Pliskova is echoing the motto of team work in her life. She recently posted a story of her on Instagram where she is seen enjoying UCL night in Madrid with the most important team member-her life partner, Michal Hrdlicka. The couple was seen cheering for one of their extended family members, who was donning The Pride of Rotterdam.
Pliskova and Hrdlicka went to Civitas Metropolitano Stadium to witness a match between Atletico Madrid and Feyenoord on Wednesday. Unfortunately, Los Colchoneros won the nail-biting match by defeating Feyenoord with a 3-2 scoreline. However, the power couple seemed to be happy after the match, as their close one was on the score sheet.

A few days back, Pliskova announced that she has to take a tough call and end her 2023 season prematurely after sustaining a left wrist injury. The 31-year-old former world number 1, believes it’s better to take a break and come back stronger than weakening oneself by continuing with the injury. The 2x Grand Slam finalist last played at the WTA 1000 event in Guadalajara, Mexico. She lost to American Hailey Baptiste after a gripping second-round encounter. However, her struggle on the court this year didn’t prevent her from enjoying the moments off the court.
She was seen recently, cheering on for the 115 years old club from Rotterdam for David Hancko. The Slovak international who currently plays for Feyenoord as a defender is the husband of her identical twin, Kristyna Pliskova. Kriystyna, who is two minutes older than Karolina, is a former professional tennis player. Karolina’s post on social media was one of the rarest moments, as she barely poses together with her husband. It was a very special moment on a special day at a special venue. To put the icing on the cake, even Hancko scored a goal in that match. What a day for the family!

Karolina Pliskova has been involved in several charitable activities. She has shown support to help build children’s hospitals and cancer research. A few years back, she even pledged to donate her endowment fund of 100 USD for each ace to help children with oncological diseases. She has one of the fastest serving abilities in her bag. During the campaign, Pliskova used the hashtag ‘#bojuj’, meaning ‘fight’ in Czech. The word became viral in her country as the effort was praised significantly by personalities like David Pastrnak, Patrick Berger & Vladimir Smicer.

Apart from her on-court activities, Pliskova is currently acing with her partner off the field as well. She married her boyfriend Michal Hrdlicka, a TV presenter and sports analyst, in 2018. The couple first met in 2015, after Czech Republic’s victory against Russia in Fed Cup. Ever since then, the couple has been cherishing the beautiful moments in their life. However, Pliskova is a private person and only prefers to share the sporting moments on her social media handles. It’s sad for the fans not seeing her on the court this year.
