Sometimes, sports run in the blood, and it might just be true when it comes to the Williams family. Serena Williams, years after calling time on her stellar career, now purely lives to create wholesome memories with her two daughters. Her tech entrepreneur husband, Alexis Ohanian, also partakes in fun activities and even organizes fun playdates for their children. Just a few days after he uploaded a cute video of his second daughter, Adira, playing dress up with dolls, it was about time he flaunted his kids’ sporting skills. A passion passed down by their mother and maybe, to some extent, by their father too!
Ohanian has often expressed his love for sports on social media. Moreover, on the 19th instalment of Ask Alexis, the Reddit co-founder revealed that he played soccer primarily in kindergarten. However, he got a taste of American football only after reaching high school since his parents did not allow him to play.
“Why, yes, I did play sports growing up. A lot of soccer basically since kindergarten. My parents wouldn’t let me play football until high school, which is really what I wanted to play. So I played American football when I finally got to high school. I’m sure we can cut to an amusing photo of me. I played basketball. I was not very good. Six foot five, wasted height,” he said. However, when it comes to his daughters, the dynamics are quite different.

Taking to Instagram, the Seven Seven Six venture capital owner uploaded the picture of an adorable playdate with his two daughters, Olympia and Adira. The snap showed both his children on either side of their backyard lawn playing soccer, with his eldest daughter, Olympia, passing the black and pink themed ball to her sister.

For those unaware, the couple welcomed their first child in September 2017. Earlier that year, Williams had also won her seventh Australian Open title (record 23rd Slam) when she was roughly seven weeks pregnant. The couple announced their second pregnancy with Adira in the backdrop of the 2023 Met Gala.
Though their youngest daughter still has time to choose what sport sparks her interest, it seems like Olympia has decided what tickles her. The seven-year-old loves playing golf, and her father also shared his experience of sharing the field with her.

During a conversation on ‘Ask Alexis,’ the Reddit co-founder revealed trying his hand at golf, highlighting that he is still learning to play the sport alongside his daughter Olympia. “I never played tennis. I am learning golf now, and I’m really loving it.” Earlier this year, Ohanian attended the Sony Open golf tournament in Hawaii as well.

Subsequently, a fan later expressed his wish of seeing Olympia playing the same event in the future on X. The American entrepreneur instantly hopped on board with the idea and said, “If she wants it, she can be it.” An avid supporter, the father of two also shared a photo of putting green built on his property to help her improve her game back home. “Farm getting a putting green because the girls and I need to work on our short game, too,” he wrote on X.
Just like her mother, Olympia has shown an early interest in sports. With a strong supporting system behind her and enough commitment, the kid might turn a golf pro someday and likely carry the Williams legacy! Who knows?
