Andreeva explains why grass is tougher than clay for her
The sixteen-year-old set foot on the grass just a week ago and already claimed her win in the Qualifiers. She beat Rosa Vicens Mas in straight sets. The WTA’s rising star made it look easy despite her difficulties with movements and issues with the ball bouncing on the grass. She won 6-3, 6-1, which is impressive for a debutant.
Andreeva revealed that she fell three times in her first practice session. She believes the grass is a difficult surface for her to play on as it is slippery, and she feels slow on it. However, she is taking it one step at a time and feels dangerous on the court despite her issues with the surface.
