‘Sitting There Waiting..’ – When Venus and Serena Williams’ Mother Oracene Price Gave a Hilarious Reason Behind Wearing Stylish Sunglasses

The American tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams have received an immense amount of support from their parents. Richard Williams and Oracene Price played a crucial role as a coach in the illustrious journey of their daughters. However, Price didn’t get as much recognition and popularity as her former husband, Richard.

The Williams sisters’ mother cheered on and supported her daughters during their matches. Price was also spotted wearing sunglasses while she was watching matches from the stands. Additionally, she once revealed the reason why she wore those sunglasses during many tennis matches.

Venus and Serena Williams’ mother once talked about her interest in tennis matches

Oracene Price was once spotted in Australia as she was enjoying her vacation away from her country. The legendary tennis mother was asked about her interest in tennis tournaments and matches.  Additionally, she was also asked if she gets sick of watching tennis matches from the stands.

Price answered the question hilariously as she stated, “oh please I go to sleep [during matches]. That’s why I wear sunglasses”

Asked if she would get bored anytime during Venus and Serena’s matches, Oracene replied, “Oh yeah, sitting there waiting until it’s over” 

Price also stated that she doesn’t like flying for tennis tours.

“I do like i have time to myself more than not so than I do at home.”

Price was previously spotted taking a nap when her tennis star daughter, Serena Williams made a comeback on the Centre Court against the French tennis player, Harmony Tan at the 2022 US Open.

Price once talked about her daughters’ retirement from tennis

During the same interview in Australia, Price was asked if she tried to convince her daughters to retire from tennis. Oracene responded by  saying that she was not trying to convince her tennis star daughters to move away from the court.

Price further stated, “They’re gonna be 90 years old creeping gonna they’re gonna be old creeping on the court.” The sensational mother also said that she is happy and proud that her daughters are successful as they train hard on the tennis court.
