Simona Halep, the Romanian tennis ace, has two Grand Slam titles under her name. However, the former World No.1 is going through some rough patches because of her injuries. In the year 2021, she suffered from a calf injury which forced her out of the forced to withdraw from the French Open, Wimbledon, and the Tokyo Olympics.

Thereafter, she incurred an injury to her leg during her semifinal run in the Indian Wells 2022. Repetitive injuries indicate that Simona couldn’t opt for the type of tennis she should. Therefore, in order to improve her game and derive safer ways, she asked Patrick Mouratoglou to help.
Simona Halep Speaks About Her New Coach
Halep partnered with Serena Williams’s ex-coach Patrick after withdrawing from the Miami Open to perform better in the clay-court season. Currently is gearing up for the French Open. While addressing the press before the tournament, she spoke about a variety of things, including her new coach. She said, “To keep a player motivated that had already won many Grand Slams and wanted to win even more is crazy good. So for that, I always admired him. And now, knowing him myself, I can imagine how he was with a player like that and how much motivation he brought her.”

Thereafter, she added, “Patrick has brought me a lot of motivation and helped me to find my love for this sport again. It is a pleasure to be back on the court and to work hard. Everything has changed and now I have to adjust. But I feel as though I have done pretty well so far in the short term.”

Patrick Mouratoglou is a renowned French tennis coach. He is famous for contributing to the record of 23 times Grand Slam champion Serena Williams from 2012 to 2021; As she walked out of the circuit after a leg injury at the Wimbledon championship in 2021. Further, he has also helped the current ATP no.5 Stefanos Tsitsipas and has shaped the 18-year-old rising star Coco Gauff.
Halep’s Trip to the Sea
The Romanian’s collaboration with Partick built a huge hype around itself. However, up till now, she has made no impact on the clay-based tournaments. Halep last played in the clay courts of Rome and took a second-round exit at the Italian Open. Though she seems optimistic about the upcoming Grand Slam.

But before jumping back on the court, the former world no.1 took some time for herself. Halep took a trip to the sea, did some jet skiing, and shared her experience with her fans. Though her outing scared her coach a little as he asked her to be safe.
