The whole tennis world experienced a big shock as Simona Halep tested positive for the anti-dope test. While Patrick Mouratoglou later walked with his verdict of feeling responsible for what the former world no.1 was going through, the case still doesn’t seem to be anywhere near a complete solution.

As everyone in the tennis community has been indulging in discussions regarding the Simona Halep trial, former tennis player Mark Petchey recently admitted to being in a confused state despite Mouratoglou taking the responsibility.

Former tennis player Mark Petchey recently expressed curiosity over Patrick Mouratoglou’s involvement in the complicated Simona Halep trial. Petchey suggested that there might be more to the story, as he pointed to the fact that Mouratoglou took responsibility for her positive test results.

Petchey commented, “How did that happen to slip through the net in terms of what happened here as he (Mouratoglou) is taking responsibility for that but then you also look at some of the numbers that are coming out in terms of the contamination and that’s a big question.” His statement reflected concerns over Mouratoglou’s role in the situation.

This not only highlighted the uncertainty surrounding the trial but also raised a big question about Mouratoglou’s involvement in the whole scenario. As Simona Halep prepares to attend her trial in person soon enough, the comment from Petchey added another layer of curiosity to the ongoing proceedings.

Halep expresses nervousness over the upcoming trial

While it is surely a tough time for the former world no.1 Simona Halep, she recently opened up about what she feels about the upcoming trial. The tennis star, who has been imposed with a four-year-long ban from participating in tennis tours, expressed concern over the decision of the authorities. “Four years is going to be a lot for my age,” the 32-year-old tennis star said.

Besides expressing concern over the duration of the ban, the tennis star also highlighted how this could be the end of her career. “It’s catastrophic if it’s going to be four years, And I don’t know how I will handle it. Probably it’s going to be (the) end of (my) career, yes,” she added. As the tennis star stays involved in the proceedings, it still remains to be seen if the hearing goes in her favor or if she decides to end her journey.
