Fans became quite disappointed after Simona Halep withdrew from the Wimbledon Championships 2021. She couldn’t defend her title there and then didn’t even play at the French Open 2021 or at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics 2020. However, there is some positive news for fans as the 2-time Grand Slam champion will be playing at the Canadian Open 2021.
Simona Halep has already won two Canadian Open titles in her career. She last played there in 2018 and managed to win the title as well. In a recent interview, she mentioned that she is really cheerful to make a comeback on the court at the Masters 1000 tournament.
“I’m really looking forward to coming back to Montréal for the first time since winning my second title there in 2018,” said Halep in the interview.
