Dubai Open 2024 champion Jasmine Paolini proved to be worthy of her salt! After catching much spotlight in the Middle East, this world’s number 15 surprised her fans with her dashing entry to the Paris finals. As she debuts in a new position in Paris, the fraternity reminds her of her old rival from Poland, Iga Swiatek. Smiling at her connection with the Polish, Paolini surprises her fans as she reveals to “try to speak in Polish but it’s not easy.”

Jasmine Paolini revealed her relationship with Iga Swiatek while taking a dig at her command over the Polish language. “I try to speak in Polish but it’s not easy. I’m a little bit shy you know because I’m not feeling really confident in it but of course when I see her I say congratulations for the title she can win so and the same she does. She congratulated me after Dubai. SHed wished me good luck after matches when we meet in the locker room so yeah I try to speak Polish but you know it’s not easy for me but we have a relationship yeah”- said Paolini.

Now Jasmine Paolini’s mother Jacqueline is half Ghanaian and half Polish descent. In fact, Paolini’s material grandmom also lives in Lodz. Therefore, she has an important Polish connection in her life. That is why when she caught the spotlight by winning the Dubai Tennis Championship this year right before Swiatek’s Qatar Open victory, the journalists were quick enough to draw a parallel and crack the joke that Poland has taken over the Middle East’s tennis scene.

Now that the Italian WTA star is all set to face off against Iga Swiatek tomorrow, the media can’t keep calm but ponder the relationship between these two young tennis players. However, Paolini previously also mentioned that her Polish is not as strong as people think. “When I was young [my mother] was speaking to me in Polish. Now I can speak Polish, but I also forgot some words. For example, Magdalena Frech is speaking to me. And I am always like, ‘Please speak slow. Because sometimes I would like to say something in Polish and I say one word in English.’ My brain is mixed a lot”- said the world’s number 15 tennis player.

However, Paolini’s fans are anxious about her ability to stand against Swiatek and that also on the clay surface. In their previous two encounters (US Open 2022 and WTA tour 2023), this Italian WTA star couldn’t hold her grounds against the Polish. Nevertheless, this Italian WTA star is not keeping herself back from dreaming big this time.

Jasmine Paolini thinks “to dream is the most important thing” as she defeated Mirra Andreeva to join the Paris finals

Paolini defeated the Russian teenager Mirra Andreeva by 6-3 and 6-1 to reach the finals. Now she will be facing the former French Open winner Iga Swiatek. While her fans are quite unsure about her victory, Paolini wishes to not lower her dreams at the moment.

I learned a bit later than other players maybe but to dream is the most important thing in sport and life. I’m happy I could dream this moment,”- she said after her victory against Andreeva. This Italian WTA star who never walked past the French Open’s second round has made it to WTA 1000 in Dubai and reached the Paris finals. Therefore, one can’t simply diminish her chances to turn the table.
