In the movie, ‘King Richard’, we saw the early childhood of Venus Williams and her younger sister, Serena Williams. They both grew up in the small city of Compton. Their journey from Compton to becoming one of the greats in women’s tennis is truly inspiring for many. Recently, Venus and her older sister, Isha Price, visited the Mark Twain Elementary School in Compton. From there, she revealed some of her childhood memories.

Earlier, Venus posted a video on her YouTube channel, where she and her sister Isha visited their childhood school in Compton. In that video, they talked about all the stuff they did when they were studying in this school. Interestingly, Serena didn’t go to the same school as Venus, according to the 7-time Grand Slam champion.
“So now, we are walking into the school and this is how we would come into school in the mornings. I loved school, I was such a nerd. And Serena wasn’t actually going to the same school because the school districts changed and she’s just crying when they dropped her off at another school. My dad managed to or my mom, both of them managed to get her in,” Venus revealed.

Later, both Venus and Isha talked to a bunch of kids and asked them a few interesting questions. The kids participated enthusiastically as Venus signed a few autographs afterward. Then, they visited their old house and their practice court, where the Williams Sisters started their journey as professional tennis players.
Venus and Serena to host the Oscars
The Williams Sisters have been in the limelight again since the release of the film ‘King Richard’ last year. Well-renowned actor, Will Smith, played the lead character, Richard Williams, the father of Venus and Serena. Because of his terrific performance, Smith received the Oscar Nomination for the Best Actor category.

Also, the film, ‘King Richard’, received six Oscar nominations in total. Yesterday, the Oscars announced another great news, as Serena and Venus were on the host list for the Oscars. Notably, this year’s Oscars will take place on 27th March and ‘King Richard’ could grab numerous awards at the ceremony.
