American tennis legend Martina Navratilova is among the all-time best tennis players. Her rivalry with fellow tennis star Chris Evert is still considered one of the best. Navratilova spent a long time playing tennis and thought of marriage only after her retirement.

Navratilova met the love of her life, Julia Lemigova in France. Later, the two grew closer and finally tied the knot in the year 2014.

While there were many celebrities present at the wedding, the maid of honor was a popular Hollywood star, Brooke Shields. However, it was surprising for people to see her there. Later the actress explained how she got close to Lemigova.

After attending the wedding, Shields appeared in the popular talk show, “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.” Here, in conversation with Andy Cohen, she revealed her connection with the wife of tennis star Martina Navratilova. Here’s what she said:

“So, we met through a woman, rest her soul, named Terry Kramer, who was a really good friend of my dad’s, and she is Julia’s godmother,” Shields Explained.

Further, praising Julia, she added, “I think Julia is a really beautiful human being, so I trust that she is going to be fine. I’m not surprised [Julia became a Housewife] because I think she’s protected, and she’s sweet, she’s got, great girls.”

When Martina Navratilova broke a wedding vow

Marina and Lemigova tied the knot after dating for a long time. Naturally, there were some likes and dislikes they had about their partners. The wedding vows were a perfect way for Lemigova to make the 18-time Grand Slam promise bound off not doing one thing she disliked about her. It was the time the 65-year-old spends on social media.

While Navratilova promised her beau that she will remain away from social media, she never did it. In fact, the legend is pretty active on Twitter and often engages in banters.
