Serena Williams wants Venus to coach Olympia if she takes up tennis
Although it was quite early to judge what Olympia will choose as her career, Serena is assured of having a good tennis coach for her, in case the little one picks up a racket. Speaking of her daughter’s possibility of taking up the sport she has mastered, the American legend bestowed the responsibility of coaching her on the shoulders of Venus. Here’s what Serena said back in 2018 in an interview with the WTA.

Venus said she would coach her. She just didn’t want to travel. She said that, like, yesterday or the day before. While Venus agreed earlier, she later said that she was not sure if she was good enough for the job. Serena quoted Venus, saying, “I’m not sure if I’m a great coach. I could be a good mental coach. In terms of a tennis coach, I don’t know if I have patience.”
Four years have flown by since that interview, and we definitely see Olympia showing interest in sports. However, she is more inclined towards soccer and it seems like the five-year-old would probably never pick up a racket.

Serena gives baking lessons to Olympia
Talking about learning from the greats, there is more than tennis that Olympia can learn from her legendary mother. While Serena might have transferred the responsibility of tennis coaching to Venus, she took charge of imparting kitchen skills to her daughter.
After her retirement, Serena is finally getting to spend a good amount of time with the five-year-old. Serena used this opportunity to teach Olympia some basic baking skills. Later, the 41-year-old also donned the critic’s hat to judge Olympia’s work.
