Iga Swiatek speaks out about the tough match
After the match, Iga was asked some questions regarding the game, particularly the change noticed by her in Bencic’s game. She said, “for sure she’s more solid. Playing doubles, always that kind of player who is risking a lot and playing as fast as possible. In Adelaide she just made, you know, mistakes. I was really solid. I just gave back some balls so she can make a mistake. Also, I had more winners. I mean, it felt like I had more winners there because I was in control.”

On the other hand, Bencic took her first win against Swiatek in this tournament. She looks like a strong contender to cause some more upsets. She will now be facing the unseeded British tennis star Emma Raducanu in the Quarterfinal of the US Open on 8th September.
