Despite staying out of action for almost 8 months this year and playing only 9 matches, Emma Raducanu still makes it to the top 5 of Forbes’ list of highest-paid female athletes.

Recently, Forbes released a list where Emma Raducanu was seen alongside Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauf on an Illustrious List. Emma Raducanu has earned only $ 238 K in prize money this year. She underwent triple surgery in May and has been out of action since then. Fans have now started to take a jibe at the Brit, here’s what they said on social media.

WTA Tour players continue to dominate the Forbes list yet again, after comprising 9 out of the Top 10 highest-paid female athletes. Just like the WTA singles ranking, even here Iga Swiatek sits atop the list. Although the 4 times Grand Slam winner recently opened up about rejecting brand deals that conflict with her values and the charitable cause she supports. Yet, her on-and-off-court incomes were more than enough to make her the highest-paid female athlete on this list.

However, the most astonishing name to the fans on the list was the 21YO Brit, Emma Raducanu. Although she had a difficult time on the court this year off the court she still managed to take home $15 M through several endorsements and deals. Emma Raducanu is the brand ambassador for British Airways, Dior, Porsche, HSBC, and many more top companies. Spending most of the year on the sidelines and yet making it to the list makes the fans surprised and here’s how they reacted.

Just like everyone else, a fan expressed his shock at seeing Raducanu on the list.

Others felt Raducanu in the list was a shame for all the athletes and women.

A few days back Sportico released a list of the highest-paid female athletes showing Coco Gauff ($22.7 M) at the top of the list and Iga Swiatek ($21.9 M) second. Even, the American had a great season this year winning her maiden Grand Slam title. But for Swiatek, it was her remarkable comeback to the top spot of the women’s singles ranking that stole the show.

Now, the Polish superstar is in Abu Dhabi to feature in the World Tennis League. The event will start on December 21 and will run till December 24 this year at the Etihad Arena. After that, she will head to Australia to lead Poland in the United Cup. The second edition of the United Cup is set to kick-start from December 29, 2023, to January 7, 2024.
