Serena Williams' daughters snubbed in Paris—Is this a sign of disrespect to the tennis legend?

Over time, Serena Williams has faced a different kettle of fish both on and off the court. Now, even after her retirement, a new challenge has emerged that involves her children. The 23-time Grand Slam champion recently vented her annoyance on social media after she and her children were turned away from a Parisian restaurant.

The 42-year-old American tennis legend is currently in Paris to witness the magic of the Olympics with her whole family by her side. However, as the event is over, Williams is enjoying her time in the city, where she faced a terrible experience at one of the luxurious hotels in town.

The former world number one took to her Twitter handle to share how The Peninsula Paris denied her entry in the first place. She wrote, “Yikes @peninsulaparis, I’ve been denied access to rooftop to eat in a empty restaurant of nicer places 🫠 but never with my kids. Always a first.”

Williams’s recent episode reflects her continuous struggles with unfair treatment; she once claimed she experienced “discrimination” in drug testing since she was tested more frequently than her rivals. In 2018, she tweeted about this problem with the hashtag “#BeingSerena.”

Not only that but in a 2018 interview, Williams also addressed the critical comments about her appearance. She acknowledged that while the criticism had taken a toll, she had grown to love her body. Williams stated, “People would say I was born a guy, all because of my arms, or because I’m strong. I was different from Venus: she was thin and tall and beautiful, and I am strong and muscular — and beautiful, but, you know, it was just totally different.”

He stated, “I think it’s very weird to have parents who everyone knows. The thing I wanted to shield them from was this idea that they are special just because of who their parents are. They are special, but for other reasons. Reasons of their own accounting and agency.”

On the other hand, Williams took offense when her daughters were denied entry into a prestigious Parisian restaurant, an incident that struck a deep chord with the tennis legend and even upsetted the tennis world.
