Serena Williams will wear a figure skating-inspired Nike dress at the US Open that she designed — made of 6 layers to honor her 6 past titles at Flushing.

Her NikeCourt Flare 2 shoes include a diamond-encrusted swoosh and solid gold lace deubrés with 400 hand-set diamonds.

According to Nike, Serena’s outfit is ‘Inspired by graceful competition dresses worn by figure skaters, The skirt includes six layers, a nod to her six previous title wins in Flushing.’

Earlier today, the 23-time Grand Slam champion emerged victorious in her first-round match at the US Open. She put on a dominant display to oust Danka Kovinic of Montenegro in straight sets.

Serena served well and gave her opponent very few chances on her serve. Additionally, she attacked Kovinic’s service games and broke her serve on five occasions. In the next round, she will face the second seed, Anett Kontaveit of Estonia.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion will also feature in women’s doubles alongside Venus Williams. The iconic pair will team up for the first time since the French Open in 2018. It’ll be interesting to see if the Williams sisters can replicate their magic together.
