Venus Williams praises her sister Serena in an emotional post
Earlier, the 7-time Grand Slam champion took to Instagram and wrote, “After 1 year after away from the game, there is still no one who can approach her level, her intensity her excitement, her entertainment. “No one has affected the game, or sport, the way she has. Tennis won’t be the same without its GOAT,“ she further wrote. Notably, during her on-court interview after the third-round match, Serena said, “I wouldn’t be Serena if there wasn’t Venus, so thank you, Venus!”

Later, Venus posted Serena’s quotes on her Instagram Story, and in that story, she wrote, “But without @serenawilliams there is no me.”
Safe to say, the bond between Venus and Serena never broke, even after their countless battles on the court. In the past, many former players, like Chris Evert, and John McEnroe, praised Venus for being selfless, which helped Serena to gain massive success on the tour.
When both the sisters made their debut on the tour, many thought Venus was going to win the first Grand Slam title. However, Serena surprised everyone and won the US Open in 1999, which could have caused a rift between the two sisters. Despite their sibling’s success, they have always supported each other during the highs and lows, which probably made them one of the most successful sibling athletes in sporting history.

Earlier, Venus had already lost her singles match in the very first round. Incidentally, that was her fourth straight loss on the tour, after making her singles return at the Citi Open earlier in this hard-court swing. Currently, Venus is 42 years old and not playing her best tennis. So, it will be interesting to see if she also announces her retirement after the US Open or possibly at Wimbledon next year, which has been her favorite tournament.
