Love goes beyond words, and Serena Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, truly embody what it means to be a power couple. Alexis once admitted he didn’t fully appreciate the lives of professional athletes until he started dating Serena. Their paths crossed at the Cavalieri Hotel in Rome, where two successful careers met. In 2019, Alexis said, “It helps that my wife and I both know what it takes to be successful and bring that mutual understanding, drive, and relentless to the table.” Now, as he champions women’s sports with growing passion, Serena stands firmly by his side.
Ohanian’s all-women’s track meet, Athlos, is back for 2025 with an exciting new twist: field events are joining the mix. The big reveal was the addition of Olympic gold medalist Tara Davis-Woodhall as the star headliner for the long jump. Athlos, which launched last September and drew over three million viewers, will return to Icahn Stadium in New York City on October 10. Fans can expect even more thrills and a bigger prize purse this year.
“It’s Track AND Field, and she’s the reason. Field is coming to ATHLOS 2025, and @tar___ruh is leading the way,” Athlos announced on social media. Tara Davis-Woodhall, who placed sixth at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic finals and then won gold in Paris with a 7.10-meter jump, isn’t just competing- she’s shaping the event’s format to meet World Athletics standards. Her mission? To boost the visibility of field events, often overlooked in U.S. track meets.

Athlos began as a pure track event but is evolving into a full track and field celebration. The star-studded roster already includes Olympians like Gabriel Thomas and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn. With Tara leading the charge, the event aims to deepen fan engagement and investment in women’s athletics. Tara’s goal is clear: “My entire goal, since I’ve gone to track and field, was to change the sport,” she said.
The 2025 meet promises a vibrant mix of elite competition and culture, building on last year’s success and Alexis Ohanian’s vision to grow women’s track and field. He previously stated, “The silver lining of women’s sports being so underinvested was that they were so easy to invest in. You can try anything you want. There is no way that things have been done before.”
