Serena Williams Missed Out but Venus Williams and Maria Sharapova Spotted Having a Gala Time in Iconic Reunion

The Place Vendôme in Paris transformed into a fashion wonderland last night as Vogue World hosted its third edition. The event brought together big names from the world of fashion and former tennis pros. While Wimbledon champions Venus Williams and Maria Sharapova caught the spotlight, Serena Williams couldn’t be seen nearby. Where was Serena Williams?

Both Venus Williams and Maria Sharapova were seen flaunting their stylish black outfits as they perfectly blended into the event filled with high-class fashion. While Sharapova turned heads in chic see-through attire, Venus Williams looked simple yet elegant in a pretty coat. While it was an exciting moment for the fans to witness two Wimbledon champions together with the event dates approaching soon, Serena Williams’ absence raised questions.

Although Serena Williams was notably absent from the picture, she still graced the event with her presence. Posing in a custom gown by Ib Kamara of Off White, the tennis legend and mother of two had all eyes on her. Her gown featured a striking Robin’s egg blue sports jersey top paired with a silk georgette skirt, which seemed to be a perfect match of sporty and elegant elements.

Well, although Serena Williams was not there with Sharapova and Venus Williams, the heartfelt words of the elder Williams for her sister made sure to make up for her absence. Opening up about how it feels to work alongside her sister, Venus Williams said, “Every time I get to work with my sister it’s always the best. I’ve been so lucky to have her by my side for the most special moments throughout my career.” 

All three of these WTA stars were also seen at this year’s glamorous Met Gala event. While timing conflict was the issue behind Serena Williams’ absence over there as well, Maria Sharapova revealed how hard it could be to get both the Williams sisters together.

This year in May, all three of the WTA fashionistas gathered around at the Met Gala event but again it was Sharapova posing with Venus Williams while looking for Serena Williams. There have been several moments where either Serena or Venus Williams was seen posing alongside Maria Sharapova. However, Sharapova was determined to get all three of them together in one frame.

“We are back at the Met, and where is Serena,” Sharapova said while looking forward to having her in the frame. She finally managed to find the WTA legend but somehow lost track of Venus Williams. To this, the former Russian WTA pro said, “Where are you? Where are you, Venus? We’re having fun without you.”

Not being able to fulfill her desire to gather the pros around, Maria Sharapova finally added a post with a caption that said, “I can’t get the Williams sisters together this year.” This year marked another moment of Serena missing the reunion. As they continue to be associated with the world of fashion, it remains to be seen when they will be able to have a picture together without any timing issues!
