Serena Williams is chasing her 24 major crown at the Australian Open 2021. She recently upset the 7th seed of the tournament, Aryna Sabalenka, making it through to the quarterfinals. Interestingly, this is the 54 time that the tennis queen has reached the last eight in a Grand Slam tournament.

Moreover, with this win, Serena has equaled the record for most-quarterfinal appearances made in a major tournament with Chris Evert. The former American professional and an 18-time Grand Slam champion’s record is finally being shared.

Before this, Williams leveled with another legend of the sport, Martina Navratilova at the US Open last year. She is 13 and 5 semifinal appearances behind both of them, respectively.
