Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian was never a soccer fan. He did play it while growing up, but that was more out of compulsion rather than love. His parents did not allow him to play football until his high school days. Still, his first investment in women’s sports was in the Angel City FC of the National Women’s Soccer League. His elder daughter Olympia had a major role to play in that. While watching the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Ohanian was talking about how excited it would be if Olympia also landed there in the future. Serena’s reply hit hard.

“Serena said without missing a beat, ‘Not until they pay her what she’s worth,’” Ohanian said. The dad did his part by not only becoming a member of the ownership group of Angel City FC but also making Olympia a co-owner of the club as well. But wait, when it comes to soccer, her interest in not limited to that only, she shows her soccer spark on the field as well. In 2022, Ohanian had showcased a then-4-year-old Olympia’s showing impressive footwork with a ball. In fact, just days back, she was seen playing soccer with her sister Adira in their backyard. Teaching little sister? Might be. But looks like their dad also caught the soccer-love from her daughters.

A while back, Alexis Ohanian shared a series of snapshots along with a short video on his IG capturing Chelsea Women FC’s triumphant trophy celebration at the Subway Women’s League Cup. For the unversed, after finishing as runners-up in the Subway Women’s League Cup Final for three consecutive years, Chelsea finally broke the streak, securing the trophy with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Manchester City. Following a 1-1 deadlock, Chelsea regained the advantage within the final fifteen minutes of play.  This was a result of Lucy Bronze’s tenacious play and a Ramirez cross that fortuitously deflected into the opponent’s net via Yui Hasegawa.

While the 41-year-old highlighted his excitement, who was the true star of the clip? Of course, little Adira! The nearly two-year-old was seen running joyfully toward her father, Alexis – her face lit up with smiles and cheers as she soaked in the celebratory atmosphere. However, it was the caption of the post that you might want to take note of.

“Saturday morning football and family! @adiraohanian is running FAST these days,” Ohanian wrote. Looks like her elder sister has really started training her! And why not? As per Ohanian’s own admission, Adira has ignited the “motherly instincts” in Olympia and the two get along quite well. 

“We’re very lucky because Adira’s got a great personality, and Olympia does too. Watching them interact has been a special kind of fun,” Alexis Ohanian said last year, just three months before Adira’s first birthday. But beyond sisterly bonding with Olympia, Adira has brought immense joy to the Ohanian family. From time to time, she has charmed fans, like last November, when Serena shared an adorable clip of the toddler running across a tennis court, ball in hand. And this latest post is yet another reminder of just how fast she’s growing up!

The co-founder of Reddit, Alexis Ohanian, and the 23-time GS champion, Serena Williams, welcomed their first daughter, Olympia, the same year they exchanged vows, in 2017. Who could forget last year’s heartwarming moment when Alexis shared a glimpse of their wedding anniversary celebration on IG? Alongside a touching tribute to his beloved Serena, he posted a sweet family photo, but it was little Adira who stole the spotlight that time. Whether during vacations or regular practice sessions, Alexis consistently highlights Olympia’s passion for the sport. Recently, the entire Ohanian family enjoyed yet another perfect day on the green. But this time, it wasn’t just Olympia and Alexis: an older generation joined in, making the moment even more special for the family.

On Saturday, March 15, Alexis Ohanian took to his X handle to share a glimpse of a cherished family outing. In one picture, he stood alongside his father and daughter, a beautiful three-generation moment. In another, Olympia was fully focused, practicing her golf swing.

Alexis wrote, “42 is realizing how precious these moments are. They’re fleeting. I could build a dozen more multi-billion dollar companies, and the ROI for this time with her is still better. Here’s to trying to always remember this when I slip into Founder Mode.”

Later, the 41-year-old shared the same picture on his IG, captioning it, “We’re living in the good ol’ days,” perfectly encapsulating a day filled with love, togetherness, and a sporting legacy in the making.
