Serena Williams’ love for music has always been music to her fans’ ears! Whether it’s gushing over Taylor Swift, rocking out to Green Day, or attending concerts with her family, Serena has never shied away from sharing her passion for tunes that fuel her soul. But it looks like the music bug isn’t just her thing—it runs in the family! This time, it’s her husband, Alexis Ohanian, and her nephew, Jair Bobbitt, who are taking center stage, showcasing their love for Kendrick Lamar’s latest album.
The American rapper and songwriter surprised many with the release of his new album on Friday afternoon. Following his high-profile feud with Drake, there was a buzz about a new album in the making. Lamar initially teased a cover of ‘GNX,’ the 12-track album which features multi-instrumentalist Jack Antonoff as a co-producer. The album and its opening track “Wacced Out Murals,” have created widespread sensationalism with people from across the globe sharing their praise. Joining the fray are none other than Ohanian and Bobbitt.
Taking to his Instagram story, Bobbitt shared a couple of stories expressing his love for the latest album. Sharing a screenshot of the opening track, he wrote, “This off to a good start,” praising the song and its composition. In yet another story, he shared the official post by Lamar announcing the album, and captioned it “Break the backboard ⛹️♂️,” signifying his trust that the latest release can break several records. Similar gestures, meanwhile, also came from Ohanian.

Amidst Lamar’s feud with Drake, Serena Williams’ husband recently took to his Instagram account to share how Lamar is among the top one percent of American rappers. Interestingly, it is not just Ohanian or Bobbitt who have expressed such admiration for the singer, but the tennis great herself has resonated with such sentiments.
In an interaction at ESSENCE Fest 2024 in July, Williams openly expressed her admiration for Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” “I love that song. It’s like the hit of the summer. When they play that jam, I’m jamming. That jam is jamming,” she shared. But Williams’ musical interest does not end here. She is now gearing up for yet another musical concert as she makes her plans clear for the next year.
