And now, after navigating a recent health scare, Alexis is taking a well-earned break from his professional hustle. What’s he up to? The Reddit co-founder took to his X on Thursday, November 28th to share updates regarding his health issues. However, he shared a picture from his hospital bed revealing that he underwent a successful surgery to remove half his thyroid and is on the road to recovery. Captioning the post, he wrote, “After tracking some suspicious nodules on my thyroid for the last 4 years, I recently got half of it surgically removed.” Detailing his problems further, he shared, “The nodules were getting bigger & the latest biopsy revealed they’d very likely turn cancerous. I wasn’t gonna take any chances; the surgery was smooth and I’m extra grateful this Thanksgiving because I got the call this morning that my now-removed-half-of-thyroid was indeed full of some gnarly nodules that were very likely to become cancerous.”

Now, he seems to be taking a much-needed respite and is enjoying some quality time with his seven-year-old daughter, Olympia. Ohanian took to his X and shared pictures with Olympia at Disney World. In one of the posts, Ohanian shared a picture of an ice cream and wrote, “Magic.” In another post, he can be seen with his daughter and wrote, “Dad jokes jungle cruise.” The images highlight how the outing is helping Ohanian as an aid to overcome his health crises. However, this is not the only disease Ohanian has battled this year. 

Earlier this year, Serena Williams‘ husband revealed that he contracted Lyme disease, an infection that spreads to humans through the bite of a tick carrying borrelia bacteria. He shared this news candidly on social media. “Doing a full battery of health scans, tests, etc, and found out I have lyme disease,” he said on X. “Wild. No symptoms, thankfully, but gonna treat. Good cholesterol is too low. Bad cholesterol is just OK. Gotta work on that. On the plus-side: 822 ng/dL total + 162 ng/dL free testosterone.” But while Ohanian is cruising through his health battle, there seems to be a major challenge for him from none other than his daughter.

For Alexis Ohanian, his daughters have continued to remain his priority. And even when life throws him a curveball, like a health scare, his fatherly instincts remain front and center. As Ohanian battles through the health issue, he seeks advice on how to explain the entire situation to his daughter who would be more intrigued due to the neck scar that has developed because of surgery. 

As soon as Ohanian shared his health update, an X user was quick to highlight the scar and wrote, “You’ll have to think of a good story for the bada– scar.” The Business mogul was quick to acknowledge the fact and sought advice from users for a potential explanation he could give to his daughter. “I can’t wait. Open to suggestions before I ask my 7-year-old to come up with something,” he wrote.

Now, it would be interesting to see if Ohanian who keeps his fans updated about his life, would reveal what reason he actually gave for the scar to his daughter.
