Alexis Ohanian is at it again, proving why he’s not only a top-tier business mogul but also the ultimate “dad goal” for many to follow. Known for showering his daughters with love and support, Ohanian has always set the bar high when it comes to fatherhood. However, even a dad as dedicated as him knows that getting kids to focus on schoolwork, especially tricky subjects like math, can be a real challenge. But leave it to Ohanian to find a fun and effective solution! 

Ohanian took to his Instagram on Saturday, October 12, to share a picture that detailed the method used by the business mogul to intrigue his daughter Olympia to solve math problems. He used an AI tool to create questions that revolved around the favorite entities of the 7-year-old, thereby fascinating her towards actively engaging with the subjects. 

Captioning the story, Ohanian wrote, “I used AI to create Math Problems based on JR’s Favorite Things.” The question paper reflects the names of some prominent personalities, including the likes of Taylor Swift, Beyonce, and Simone Biles. For the unversed, there have been several instances when Olympia’s love for these personalities has come to light. 

In an interview with podcast host and editor Kara Swisher at the INBOUND event, Serena Williams revealed the love of her daughter for the American singer and songwriter. “My daughter just turned 7. She’s not into princesses, she’s into Taylor Swift,” she said.

Similarly, Ohanian revealed that watching a video of Simone Biles in action as she performed a chilling new floor routine, left Olympia inspired. “Jr. sees this and starts tumbling over the sofa. Love to see it,” he wrote. Interestingly, despite having time to watch her favorite stars in action, Olympia might have her screen time regulated. Ohanian and Serena had hinted about that in the past when Olympia was just a few months old.

It was in September 2018, when Olympia was only 7 months old, Ohanian had engaged in a conversation with CNBC, where he had clearly stated that he and Serena did not want their daughter hooked to the screen. “You see very quickly how quickly these kids gravitate towards [devices]. It’s amazing to watch, but it’s also a little scary,” he had said.

Joining a growing list of tech luminaries that includes the likes of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, Ohanian had further added, “My wife and I both want her to be bored. My wife and I both want to know what it’s like to have limits on tech. So we’ll be regulating it pretty heavily” While he looked forward to playing video games with Olympia as she grew up, he had emphasized playing with blocks and toys that truly put the brain to use. All that being said, Ohanian could not deny the power of AI.

According to Ohanian, AI will make work more efficient. It’s a shift that’s already underway, as he described it as a major turning point for tech that’s unparalleled in recent history. So, just like he used it for Olympia’s homework, he had also utilized it to plan a vacation with  Serena. Ohanian had also revealed to be using AI in the day-to-day operations of his firm Seven Seven Six. But amid such a boost in the tech landscape that is sure to affect the future generation big time, Ohanian seems to be trying to offset it by spending quality time with Olympia.

Alexis Ohanian has often depicted immense love for his daughters. He even considers becoming a father as one of his biggest achievements and never shies away from discharging his responsibilities as a father. Discussing his parenting style, the Business Dad detailed the ways he takes for the same. 

Ohanian engaged in an interview with businessman Bobby Kim for his ‘Business Dad’ podcast in July and revealed his parenting style. “I generally think about gentle-ish parenting the way I like to parent. I do generally like the idea of talking to my kids instead of talking down to them,” he said.

He further spoke about how fatherhood has its “ebb and flow” and how his learnings as a father are also helping him evolve as a human. “The relationship has layers to it, which has been really fun. But for a six-year-old, I’m just starting to unpeel the human and really learn all the different feelings and desires and hopes and fears. And it’s awesome” One integral part of parenting is adjusting to the needs of the children and Ohanian had to do that big time during the pandemic.

While being confined at home, Ohanian had shared how Olympia converted his home office into a preschool! He had shown a dry-erase board with a bunny and a chicken on it. Also featured was a small set of activities for Olympia to do. “That’s just life,” Ohanian had written. Serena also joined in, to keep Olympia engaged during those difficult times. In a post dedicated to medical professionals, the Little one was seen checking her mommy’s heart.

Alexis Ohanian and Serena Williams’ parenting style has a strong message for the parents out there and sets an example. His love for Olympia and Adira has continued to take centre stage in his life and it will be interesting for fans to see more such endearing moments.
