The 4th of July is a big day for any citizen of the US. Independence Day is one that any patriot celebrates with pride. Many celebrities also leave messages for their fans and followers, uplifting and praising them. Alexis Ohanian, the husband of Serena Williams, was one of the many who shared an Independence Day message to motivate his followers. Martina Navratilova shared a similar message as the Reddit co-founder. But hers was laced with somber undertones.

Although home this year due to her pregnancy, Serena Williams had a lavish celebration for Independence Day 2019. Along with her close friend and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, Williams had a ball of a celebration during the Wimbledon finals.

Martina Navratilova shared a 4th of July message on her Twitter page. Navratilova’s message was more serious than others would’ve expected. She wrote, “via @NYTOpinion – Happy Birthday America. We can do better…“. In addition to her Tweet, she shared an article that talked about the false patriotism speech of Frederick Douglass.

Along with her, Alexis Ohanian was quick to post a message for his fellow patriots on his Twitter page. Unlike Navratilova, the business magnate wished a good Independence Day to his followers, along with a picture of his daughter, Olympia.

Happy Fourth ⛳ every day, we must get a little better. As individuals and as a country!” wrote Ohanian with an image of his daughter aiming for a golf shot.
