“What do you know about nail polish?” Alexis Ohanian once asked his then two-year-old daughter, Olympia, in an adorable video. Serena Williams‘ daughter, engrossed in painting her father’s nails with dried paints, had colors all over the place but continued her work in silence. Well, almost five years later, the Reddit co-founder realized how much her daughter had learned about nail polishing.

Ohanian enjoys a strong bond with Olympia as seen through the various activities of the father-daughter duo. From baking to collecting trading cards and even golfing, fans have been accustomed to the adorable relationship between the entrepreneur and his daughter. Ohanian’s latest Instagram story was yet another insight into their heartwarming connection.

In the past, Ohanian has also discussed how his daughter gives him feedback on his parenting skills, but this time it was his turn to see how his daughter’s nail-polishing skills have improved from 2020.

Serena Williams’ husband posted an Instagram video where Olympia was painting his pinky finger with transparent nail polish and then carefully putting the glitters on top of it while describing the process herself. In the end, she forced her father to “feel” the nails, upon which Ohanian couldn’t help but say, “That’s wild,” before asking his daughter if the nail paint would come out. To which the 7-year-old said “Yes”.

For Ohanian and indeed for Olympia getting to the point where she can talk about the nail painting process and knowing if the paint can be removed shows how far she has come. In February 2020, Ohanian uploaded an Instagram video, in which Olympia dressed in a casual tee and green apron began applying a coat of purple paint on his father’s left hand. “Is papa wearing nail polish?” Ohanian asked her while she went about her business.

“I don’t know if this color works for me,” said the then 36-year-old entrepreneur when Olympia put an orange shade over Ohanian’s purple-painted nails, or rather hands with her paintbrush! Serena Williams’ husband couldn’t help but wonder if the then-toddler was “proud” of her work. But if not then, Olympia was definitely proud of herself this time when she impeccably put on green nail polish on Ohanian’s nails and even tried on some glitters to enhance them.

Much like her mother, Serena Williams, Olympia’s love for fashion and dressing up is no secret to fans. This includes her accompanying her mother to Paris Fashion Week as well, twinning with Williams’ pink Balmain dresses! Even last year, Williams shared a snap on social media, revealing Olympia’s pink-feathered cape dress up just like her mother, who adorned it to the 2021 Met Gala event.

“Like mama, like daughter. @olympiaohanian Met Gala next?” she captioned the post. Moreover, when she was four, Olympia appeared on Vogue’s cover along with her mother!

Coming back to the father-daughter attachment, during a June 25 episode of The Business Dad podcast, Ohanian revealed how he asks his daughter for an evaluation of his efforts as a parent and Olympia gives him a performance review. 

He mentioned, “I literally ask Olympia for a performance review. She’s only six. But I love asking her what are things that Papa could have done over the last few months better. Sometimes she’s like, you know, you just squeeze me too hard. And you got to ease up on that. So please don’t squeeze me too hard.” In addition to this, Olympia’s inner artist comes to the surface, as she loves to draw along with him.

Talking about Olympia last year to PEOPLE, Ohanian said, “I do think she’s a mix of both creative and athletic right now…Maybe that’s where she’ll land — somewhere in the creative end and athletic.”

What’s more is that Ohanian never forgets to celebrate his daughter’s presence in his life!

Serena Williams’ husband’s father-daughter time with Olympia!

Serena Williams’ daughter turned seven on September 1 and Ohanian took the opportunity to go on a father-daughter trip to New York City. They traveled together and visited Milk Bar and also spent some time at the American Girl Store. Posting a few glimpses of the trip on Instagram, he wrote, “Beautiful weekend with our SEVEN year old Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. 🥹 My heart is full.”

“We got to celebrate the final days of being six in Papa’s birthplace. 🗽 @olympiaohanian your mama and I love you more with every passing year. My life changed September 1, 2017 🙏 thank you,” he further wrote in the caption.

Be it making artistic pancakes for Olympia or enjoying some time in Disney Land, Serena Williams’ husband is always there for his fatherly duties. And with her charm, innocence, and confidence, little Olympia is also winning our hearts!
