The indisputable legacy of Venus and Serena Williams has gone down in the tennis history realm. More than their records, it is about their rise and their swift domination in the WTA circuit. This is something that none of the other WTA players have been able to do till now. However, all these aspirations took seed in their mind since they were little kids. Veteran coach Rick Macci recently revealed what little Serena Williams used to envision.

No doubt, Rick Macci has always been an avid cheerleader of Venus Williams. So, even if he believed in the capabilities of Serena Williams, he knew her elder sister Venus was going to be the biggest challenge she would have to overcome.

Veteran coach Rick Macci takes the fans of the Williams sisters on a trip down memory lane once in a while. Once again, he has a story of 10-year-old Serena Williams who wished to become the best tennis player in the world.

He took to his Twitter and stated, The NUMBER ONE thing Serena Williams Always chirped even at age ten was Rick I will be number One.” The big dreams of the little girl stemmed from the mental conditioning done by her father, Richard Williams.

Macci also agreed with Serena, however, he also had an eye on the biggest challenge she would face. He stated, “I would say you Can but right now your only number TWO in your in your own bedroom! Venus Williams.”

Macci has always been a staunch proponent of Venus Williams and her insurmountable skills. So, even if Serena is the undisputed GOAT, Macci’s bias for Venus stems from a long way back.

Macci believes Venus Williams could have been the GOAT 

The veteran coach worked with the two sisters when they were little. So, he saw the talent they both boasted of. According to him, Venus Williams was much better than Serena at the age of 11, 12, 13.

Talking about her skills, he stated she had a great wingspan and even if she did not go to the net much, she surely was dominant on the court.

Even if skill sets molded once they grew up and Serena Williams attained more titles than Venus, the two sisters have collectively changed the face of WTA.
