Danielle Collins added one more title to her name at the Charleston Open after defeating Daria Kasatkina. After the match, in a fun-filled interview, she revealed her interest in karaoke nights, especially the songs of her favorite band, Green Day. Steve Weissman, the host of the interview then revealed, “Serena loves Green Day. Big fan; I think it’s her favorite band.”

Hearing this, Collins quickly added “I can’t wait to witness this live, hopefully. Fingers crossed. Serena! call me!!” referring to a karaoke night with Williams singing Green Day songs. It was followed by a laugh and excitement on the subject.

Collins’ lighthearted offer to Williams is a perfect example of the respect and companionship that players frequently share. A few months ago, Williams attended a pre-Grammys Gala party where she paid tribute to Green Day, calling it her favorite band of all time. She further added about her love for the band, implying that to know her is to know her love for the band.
