The American legend is very active on social media and often shares glimpses of her day-to-day life on platforms like Instagram and Twitter. On this occasion, she took to TikTok to post an amusing video?humorously jabbing the iconic Swiss company.
In the video which she shared via her official TikTok handle, Serena can be heard asking, “How do you pronounce Audemars Piguet?” Despite their long-term association, the former World Number 1 faced difficulty in pronouncing the name of the Swiss company, as she light-heartedly poked fun at the brand in front of millions of her fans.
The younger Williams sister has been associated with Audemars Piguet since 2014 when they enlisted her as a brand ambassador. Over the years, she has worn some rare pieces from the brand on the court. Last year’s US Open was one such example. Back in 2021, Audemars Piguet provided the American legend with a Marvel-themed watch. One of the models surrounds the character of Black Panther and the masterpiece took almost 30 hours to be sculpted. It was a valuable watch, worth around $162,000 during that time – the priciest timepiece in women’s tennis history!
Apart from the Black Panther watch, Serena was also seen wearing Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Rose Gold edition at Wimbledon. The watch was one of the heaviest, with the rose gold plating making it denser. The watch was worth $70,000 at the time. Again, on The Tonight Show by Jimmy Fallon, she donned a special edition released for the Royal Oak’s 50th anniversary, in white gold and icy blue detailing.
