Celebrating 30 years of joy, anger, heartbreaks, and a lot of magical moments! Venus Williams became a professional tennis player on October 31, 1994, at the age of just 14. Throughout these years she has not only managed to win 49 career titles, including 7 Grand Slam triumphs, but also became a role model for thousands of youngsters! Recently, she shared a few glimpses from her incredible journey on social media to celebrate this historic moment, and guess what? It didn’t take too long for her younger sister to shower love.
“There is no Venus without Serena and Serena without Venus!” Venus Williams had said. Both these sisters have proven these lines time and again in the past. Serena Williams has often referred to her elder sister as a “rock” signifying the importance of her support in her life. Irrespective of their astonishing achievements, their ego was strictly prohibited from entering this beautiful relationship. This recent post is just like a similar token of love featuring these two legends of the sport. On Thursday, Venus Williams shared a couple of pictures on her IG account and she captioned it saying, “30 years ago today, I stepped on the court for my pro debut! 🙏🎾✨.”
In the picture, 14-year-old Venus Williams was seen signing autographs after winning her first-round match against former NCAA singles champion Shaun Stafford at the Silicon Valley Classic in Oakland. That was her first professional match that she won in two sets. Later on, after seeing this post, her younger sister, Serena Williams, shared that post on her IG stories and she captioned that post with, ” @venuswilliams 💕💕.”

Since her debut, Williams has amassed an impressive record: seven major singles titles, four Olympic gold medals, and 14 doubles major titles. She’s also been the world No. 1 and claimed 49 WTA singles and 22 WTA doubles titles. Despite turning 44 and not competing since March, Williams hasn’t officially retired, unlike her younger sister Serena, who stepped away after the 2022 U.S. Open. Just like Serena, even Venus Williams has, time and again, revealed the impact her younger sister had in her career.
In 2021, during an interview, Venus Williams revealed that she owes a lot of success to having her sister around for support. “I can’t imagine doing it (going through her professional tennis career) without her.” She further added, “In an individual sport, you are alone. You walk out there and that’s it. You can’t have anyone sitting on the bench for a second. So it is amazing to be able to have walked the same road with her.”
Then, almost a year later, Venus Williams spoke about how just being around Serena Williams has had a great influence on her life and career. During a recent interview, we heard her say, “I learned how to compete from her (Serena), just by watching.” Surely, Serena Williams is very much part of this incredible journey of ‘Queen V’, but is she the only one to react to her recent post?

Not only Serena Williams, but there were plenty of people to shower love and praise on Venus Williams for her incredible journey as a professional tennis player. Macci wrote, “On fire!! ❤️🔥” in the comment section, while Stubbs commented, “Omg and i was there !” Both of them have seen the rise of the Williams sisters from a pretty close distance.
However, the comment that stood tall among all other comments was the reaction sent in by Venus Williams’ rumored boyfriend, Andrea Preti. For those who’re unaware, Preti is a Danish-born former model from Italy, who has now switched to acting and direction after attending the Susan Baston Academy in NY.
Both Venus and Andrea have been spotted spending time together multiple times over the last few months and now, after seeing Williams’ recent post, he commented, “Hunny Bonny ❤️.” Then Venus Williams thanked him for the appreciation, saying “@andreapreti88 grazie! ✨👵🏾😅.” Preti came back with yet another comment in Italian, saying, “@venuswilliams prego🖖🏻🖖🏽.” It means “you’re welcome” in the Italian language.
