The 2021 tennis season has already witnessed three Grand Slams. It is coming towards its end now and fans are pretty excited to know who will end the year as the World No.1 player. In the women’s domain, while there is some really good news for Barbora Krejcikova and Coco Gauff, Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka will have to fight extremely hard to be in the top 20 rankings.

A recent stat just pinpointed the names of the players who have the maximum percentage of points to defend until the end of the 2021 tennis season. Interestingly, World No.5 Bianca Andreescu and Elina Svitolina are two of the top three in the list as they have to defend  82% and 69% points respectively.

This means that they will have to win almost every tournament in order to stay high in the WTA rankings. Any losses from here will lead to dropping of points that will ultimately lower them down in the rankings.

Similar conditions exist for Victoria Azarenka and Serena Williams as they also have to defend about 73% and 58% points respectively. Thus, Serena might even get out of the top 20 rankings if she fails to reach the semis of the US Open 2021.
