The 23 times Grand Slam Champion and former World No.1 Serena Williams has made a brand new investment. This time she has stepped into the world of football. Williams and her investment team are actively involved in the bidding wars.

In fact, Serena Ventures has achieved a variety of milestones as an investment company. Therefore, she jumped into the cage with an armor of experience to claim the Chelsea football club.

Serena Williams Is Reaching for Football

The Chelsea football club is being spearheaded by former Liverpool Football club and British Airways chairman Sir Martin Broughton. Along with Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula One world champion, Serena has raised a bid of a total of 20 million pounds. With a spilt of 10 million pounds each.

Williams and Hamilton will enjoy the co-owner privileges. However, HBSE headed by American private equity billionaires, Josh Harris and Dave Blitzer has provided the maximum financial backing to the Broughton bid. Therefore, HBSE will take the part of the holding company.

Further, this isn’t the first time football has seen mega players of other games show investment interests. For example, the basketball legend LeBron James has been a shareholder of Liverpool for more than a decade now.

Serena’s Other Investment This Week

Serena Williams made a seven-figure investment in a New York-based sports marketing technology start-up named Open sponsorship. Apart from Williams’ big names such as David Blitzer, the owner of Philadelphia NBA 76ers and co-owner of primer league club Crystal Palace are notable investors.

Further, the company has promised to use the funding to formulate growth strategies. With a vision of expanding intensively in the market of the United Kingdom.

In addition, Serena owns 0.5 stakes in the American Football team Miami Dolphins. And also is the co-owner of the Los angels based women’s football club Angel city.

Speaking about her game, Serena is in the sidelines since Wimbledon 2021. The tennis ace incurred a leg injury which kept her out of the circuit. However, she recently hinted at a comeback. She might join this year’s Wimbledon Championship.
