During her legendary career, Serena Williams has secured many records to her name. From winning the most Grand Slam titles in the Open Era to becoming the oldest World Number 1, the younger Williams sister has had it all. While Serena’s winning mentality is second to none, her success in tennis is symbolic of her hard work and dedication. Recently, the 23-time Grand Slam champion had something to cheer about as she had another record coming her way.

Yesterday, Serena played the last match of her illustrious tennis career as she lost against Ajla Tomljanovic in a thrilling three-set match. In a match lasting over three hours, Serena gave everything that she had but couldn’t overcome her Australian opponent in the third round of the US Open.
Serena Williams Building becomes the largest structure at Nike
Earlier this year, the 23-time Grand Slam champion’s building at Nike became the largest structure at its headquarters. It surpassed other legends like Michael Jordan and LeBron James’ structures.
In 2003, at age 21, Serena Williams signed with Nike.

At more than 1 million square feet, the size of nearly three city blocks, the Serena Williams Building has become the largest structure at Nike World HQ. It was designed by Skylab Architecture and opened in April 2022.
Coming to Serena’s US Open performance, it was a tremendous effort by her to reach the third round of the tournament. In the second round, she had knocked out Anett Kontaveit of Estonia, who was the second seed.
Serena reflects on her career

During the post-match interview after her third-round defeat, Serena summed up her illustrious career. She said, “It’s been a fun ride. It’s been the most incredible ride and journey I’ve ever been on in my life.”
Further, she added, “I’m just so grateful to every single person that’s ever said ‘Go Serena’ in their life. I’m just so grateful because you got me here.” Serena lost to Tomljanovic 5-7 7-6(4) 6-1.
