However, like every other successful person, his love for the internet and technology rose from a deeper place. In his childhood, he loved the computer his family had provided for him. The Reddit co-founder detailed how that one step had changed his life forever.

The renowned internet entrepreneur found a way to learn more with whatever he had at his disposal when he was young. And that led him to become a millionaire, which his parents were happy about but did not know what role they played in it.

Success did not come easily to either him or his wife, Serena Williams. The two had their fair share of struggles when they were young. However, they both continued to follow their dreams. Ohanian detailed in his book, “Without Their Permission”, what role did his parents play in shaping his career.

He stated, “For my parents, it was a day when their only child had become a millionaire before he was twenty-four. But they always just wanted me to be happy.” As with any other middle-class family, his parents tried to fulfill his desires. He stated, “Neither one of them really understood the PC, but they let me do whatever I wanted to it as long as I didn’t break it.”

However, he had some confessions to make. Ohanian broke it quite a few times. However, he stated, “But then I wound up putting it back together. That computer was my gateway to another world.”

He reminisced about campaigning for a 33.6Kbps connection and detailed his joy after getting it. He stated, “When I finally got to hear those now-antiquated sounds of the modem, it seemed like magic to my adolescent brain.”
