The WTA schedule has been taking a toll on players and the headlines certainly have not let up. Many are struggling to play continuous matches. Tennis professionals are not holding back from expressing their problems and are also standing up for each other. However, the chatter over the concerns raised has also found mixed responses. While most of the audience supports the difficulties faced by the professionals, some have asked them to stop complaining and focus on their game. But Daria Kasatkina did not keep calm.
The Russian gave it back to a former tennis professional who refused to accept the players’ statements regarding the schedule. Kasatkina’s one-liner was sassy enough to keep the former player at bay. What exactly did she say?

The tournaments before US Open are getting hectic as players are playing almost every day. For some, there have been less than 24 hours of breaks before their next match was scheduled. Getting enough time to recover from the strenuous matches and prepare for the next has become a luxury many cannot afford. In this context, Victoria Azarenka expressed her frustration over the scheduling, which Kamil Patel opposed.
See you at work at 3am🥰 and no whining pls!!! https://t.co/4djVCN5ErK

Patel commented, “Can players stop whining and just play?” The Twitter account of ‘The Tennis Letter’ posted Azarenka’s statement, and the comments started flowing in. To Patel’s reply, Kasatkina wryly wrote, “See you at work at 3am🥰 and no whining pls!!!”
The 13th ranked in the WTA has a match scheduled at 2:30 am tomorrow against Aryna Sabalenka after defeating Varvara Gracheva in straight sets in Round Two at the Cincinnati Masters. Apart from Azarenka and Kasatkina, other top-ranked players too urged the WTA to keep its players’ health in mind while organizing matches.
How has match scheduling affected WTA professionals?
Azarenka played a doubles and a singles match on consecutive days. This did not allow her to recover and rest properly. Consequently, she lost in the 2nd round, after which she slammed the ongoing situation. The Belarusian player labeled tennis as the only sport in the world where players do not know when their next match is. Similarly, when Elena Rybakina lost her semi-final match at the Canadian Open, she was playing without a break. However, even before the former World Number 1 spoke out, the current top-ranked player, Iga Swiatek condemned the hectic schedule.
