Venus Williams‘ YouTube channel is becoming active again after months of inactivity. Her channel would come up with content frequently, but in the last three months, there were no uploads. Williams broke the drought by uploading her own training video last week which received about 84,000 views. Last night, the American legend put up an interview on her YouTube channel that suggested that we are about to get regular content on her channel.

Williams interviewed a recent shark attack survivor, Matt Picarelli. The videographer was the victim of a shark attack earlier this year. He needed fifty stitches to survive the nightmare and feels that he was lucky to be alive right now.

Venus was fascinated by the victim’s story. She lauded his bravery and admitted that she herself would have panicked. After hearing the harrowing tale of Matt, Queen V said, “I would have been like sedate me, sedate me, sedate me. I am always at the doctor, orthopaedics or whatever and I’m complaining. I need to get tougher.

The former world number 1 then went on to discuss the existence of sharks in Florida with Matt. He said, “There are a lot of sharks in the water here through certain seasons, there’s a lot of migration happening. And that’s what people need to be aware of especially if you’re coming to visit here.

When asked about the migration season, he gave out a warning to tourists, as he said, “It was when it happened to me. So the end of winter to spring in transitional.

It was a rather great initiative from Williams, not just to interview the victim but also to spread awareness about the shark migration for tourists. After all, the ocean is their home and we’re just visitors trying to have some fun in the water.
