Martina Navratilova shares her views on the new Twitter CEO
One of the most popular social media sites in the world, Twitter, was recently bought for $44 billion by the American billionaire Elon Musk. The first area where he turned his attention after buying the social media site was the blue tick verification. According to the new rules, which were suspended after a surge in fake ‘verified’ accounts, a user can pay an $8 monthly fee to either maintain their verified status on Twitter or get their account verified, applicable for users with unverified accounts.
Referring to the controversial subscription plan, Navratilova tweeted, “I think Musk would screw up a one-car funeral… as a friend used to say a bit more harshly. ”
Soon after Twitter’s new CEO announced an $8 monthly fee to verify users’ accounts, tennis legend Martina Navratilova claimed she did not request the blue verification tick.
