Emma Raducanu is back with new vigor at the Nottingham Open! The British tennis pro who last participated in the Madrid Open is now once again capturing the hearts of her fans in Nottingham. With the aim of bringing the trophy back home, Raducanu’s words after her recent Round 16 win in the Rothesay Open resonated with her fans worldwide.

Emma Raducanu has swept past two rounds in Nottingham and has qualified for her first-ever quarter-final match on grass. After beating Daria Snigur in her latest match by 6-2, 6-2, the 21-year-old player exuded great confidence in her on-court interview. A clip of that interview has surfaced on X, where she says, “It was incredible today. I really could hear the support. I could really feel that. It was really nice.”

Raducanu, who finished her match against Snigur in over an hour, further added, “It’s like our turf. Not just me, all of us are doing pretty well at this tournament. So we are trying to take the title home again, one of us.” The Briton suffered from ankle and wrist surgery last year, taking time away from the sport for the majority of 2023. However, the former World No. 10 made a comeback this year, although still struggling with her form. But that did not hinder her aspiration to play for her country.

Emma Raducanu’s grass-court season is starting on a good note. Qualifying in her second quarterfinal match this year, Raducanu’s connection to the Nottingham Open is not new. However, the former quarterfinalist of this event in 2021, Raducanu, revealed how she was weary of her opponent before the match. This is because she has played against her 2002-born peer previously too and knows how difficult it is to win against her.

“It was an extremely tricky match. Honestly, I knew from before I came on that I needed to be on it today, because Daria is a really good grass-court player. She won junior Wimbledon, and I played with her in the juniors growing up. I know how tricky she can be to play, and how unorthodox she is,” she said. But her worries are now over. Taking steady steps towards winning her first grass-court tournament this season, Emma Raducanu is optimistic about bringing the trophy back home!
