The US election results are in, and the air is charged with debate! Donald Trump has officially claimed victory, securing his second non-consecutive term as the 47th President of the United States, edging out Kamala Harris in what became one of the most closely watched races. The news has ignited conversations across the nation, and even Alexis Ohanian—husband of tennis icon Serena Williams—didn’t hesitate to share his thoughts.

The Reddit co-founder is not just known for his business ventures but also for his active involvement in political affairs and discussions. Ohanian has time and again expressed his take on politics and has also encouraged the people of the country to go out and vote in large numbers. Now, with the results of the elections going in Trump’s favor, Ohanian has yet again shared a take, and this time, it’s advice for the Democratic Party which conceded defeat. 

Taking to his Instagram story, Ohanian shared a picture of the results that detailed the state-wise votes and how the margin increased for the Republicans as compared to 2020. Captioning the post, he shared advice for the Democratic party asking them to reset their political strategies. “Dems – hit reset. Rebuild everything from first principles for what Americans want most,” Ohanian wrote. He also made similar posts on X as well. 

“Build back a platform and strategy to appeal to Americans from first principles,” he wrote on the microblogging platform. Remember, Alexis Ohanian voted on November 1st and shared a video detailing the same. He was seen in a black outfit with an ‘I Voted’ sticker imprinted on it, as he urged people to go out and vote in large numbers as he himself seemingly rooted for the Democrats. 

Trump cleared the 270 electoral votes needed to clinch the presidency following a win in Wisconsin early Wednesday. Besides, he also won Michigan and Pennsylvania that ones were leaning in favor of the Democratic Party. Coming back to Ohanian, the Reddit co-founder has time and again reflected on the importance of voting, highlighting things people should keep in mind while choosing their representative.

Taking to X in 2023, Ohanian shared, “Who you vote for matters. And it’s more important than ever that the folks in office are at least proficient in technology and are spending time with builders to understand the potential paths so that we can get the best possible outcome for America & humanity.” Interestingly, Ohanian is not just keeping his political knowledge to himself but is imparting it to his 7-year-old daughter, Olympia as well.

Alexis Ohanian never misses to set dad goals. From baking pancakes to taking his daughter to her favorite restaurant, Ohanian has always highlighted his immense love for Olympia. But besides showering love, Serena Williams‘ husband is also imparting some important knowledge to her, the details about which were shared by Ohanian himself. 

Taking to Instagram, Ohanian shared a video of himself asking people to go out and vote. Captioning the video, he revealed the discussion he had with Olympia about voting and its importance. “Olympia’s big question last night was about voting,” he said emphasizing the awareness of the kid despite her young age.  Continuing further, he shared the response he gave to Olympia which speaks volumes of the American electoral system. 

“I explained what a miraculous (YOUNG) experiment our republic is in the timeline of humanity (and we didn’t get it perfect from the start but we are always working to improve it – like fighting to make sure girls — especially Black girls like her — could vote) and how RARE a society with prolonged free and fair elections AND peaceful transitions of power is. Do not take these for granted,” Ohanian added. 

But for now, what remains to be seen if Ohanian shares more take on the elections and highlights his understanding of the results. Will similar voices continue to pour in? Well, that remains to be seen.
