In his recent interview with IndieWire, the director opens up about the movie saying, “I think those three characters in that movie are beautifully complex and really f**ked-up people that I love very much. And a sports film, why not?”

He further echoed his previous statement, saying, “It’s hyperkinetic, and I do films, so it’s great.” Guadagnino has called Challengers his first-ever “a fairly fizzy, sexy” comedy film, and the city of Boston serves as the film’s backdrop. It also features Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist in the lead roles. The movie is set to release on the big screen on August 11, 2023.

The Williams sisters’ backing for the movie ‘King Richard’ was met with widespread acclaim.
