Jessica Pegula, America’s top tennis player, is leaving no stone unturned in her quest to etch her name in history. While this year has been great for the 29-year-old tennis player, the WTA Finals tournaments are more special. Pegula is prepared to make history under her name after securing her spot in the final and getting closer to competing in the year-end tournament’s championship match. While the fifth-ranked tennis player is ready to give her 100% to lift the year-end title, she will have to defeat the second-ranked tennis player, Swiatek. Apart from that, throughout the tournament, she has created history by becoming the first player to face the top four-ranked tennis players in a single tournament.

In various stages of the tournament, Jessica Pegula defeated world number one, three, and four while only leaving the slot for the second-ranked player. But now that the four-time Grand Slam champion has advanced to the final after defeating Aryna Sabalenka, she is about to create a new record.

Since the ranking system was published in 1975, Pegula is the first one to play against the top 4 ranked players. She can also create another special record by defeating Swiatek and being the first one to defeat the top four. Being a 5th-seeded tennis player herself, in the WTA Finals, Pegula has been able to defeat players who are above her in the rankings.
