Serena Williams shared her views on her Instagram after she was honored at the National Portrait Gallery. The Smithsonian Art Museum recognizes individuals who have made noteworthy contributions to American society.

The new commissions have been added to the over 23,000 permanent portraits of Abraham Lincoln, Aretha Franklin, Frida Kahlo, and Spike Lee that are already on display.

Serena Williams shared her appreciation for receiving the prestigious award

The National Portrait Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution recently honored the Williams sisters. Among the seven recipients of the Portrait of a Nation award were Serena Williams, Venus Williams, American record producer Clive Davis, and Dr. Anthony Fauci, Chief Medical Advisor to the US President.

The legendary tennis player took to Instagram and uploaded a picture with the caption, “To have a picture in the @smithsoniannpg alongside so many historical icons? My mind is officially blown 🤯”

Serena further added, “But to be inducted with your sister? Best feeling ever. Thanks, @toyinojihodutola for your vision of having a treasure smile. We need to see more of that. And @robertpruitt what a sensational vision you had of @venuswilliams.”

Serena hopes the latest Black Panther film will win an Oscar

The year’s most anticipated action film, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” has Serena’s love and support. After watching a special screening of the movie, the former World No.1 shared her thoughts with her followers. Serena said that the film is deserving of an Oscar. She expressed her gratitude to the cast, singer Rihanna, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, and actress Angela Bassett for their efforts.

She had recently shared her excitement and designated it as her favorite Marvel movie. Her love for the Marvel Cinematic Universe was also evident during her time in London.

Earlier this year, she attended the premiere of another Marvel movie, Thor: Love and Thunder in London. Serena Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, attended the event. She used Instagram to share a few stories from the event, in which she also professed her admiration for Natalie Portman and Marvel Comics.
