Venus and Serena Williams have spent most of their lives together. They grew up together, practiced on the same court, and fought for the same titles. They share an intimate bond which is clearly visible in a picture that Serena shared in 2017.

The American legends have supported each other in rough times and celebrated one another’s success. Something which in a way shouts ‘soulmates’. They themselves understand the value of having each other’s company. Therefore, from time to time, Serena and Venus portray how they have always been together, like in this picture from 2017.
A picture that held Venus and Serena Williams’ memories
The 23 times Grand Slam champion shared a childhood picture of her lying beside a smiling Venus Williams. “To my bff Venus Williams. That’s me lying down and Venus with the bottle,” Serena wrote.

To which the elder sister responded by writing a simple yet emotional message, “But I love you.” Serena, that year, without dropping any set, made up to the finals and got the better of Venus to clinch the trophy at the Australian Open.

Of course, the defeat should have made the seven-time Grand Slam champion sad as she was seeking her first Australian Open trophy. However, the on-court rivalry never seeped into their off-court relationship and their interaction on this post perfectly showcases the same.
Serena’s record against Venus

The former World No 1s ruled the courts for over a decade. If not in the same pool, they met each other in the finals. However, later Serena’s grip strengthened and Venus, who fell prey to an autoimmune disease, started trailing. They, before Serena’s retirement, locked horns a total of 31 times.

Out of those matches, the younger sibling has 19 marked under her name. Their last meeting was in the year 2020. They squared off for a position in the last eight of the Top Seed Open in Lexington. There, Serena defeated Venus in sets of 6-3 3-6 6-4.

Further, they have played as a team as well and were invincible for a long time. The Williams duo claimed a total of 14 Grand Slam trophies and three Olympic gold medals.
