It has been quite a long time since fans last saw former World No.5 Eugenie Bouchard on the court. She injured her shoulder in June 2021, and hasn’t returned to the court ever since then. As of now, she is working as a tennis analyst with Tennis Channel.
Eugenie Bouchard last featured at the Monterrey Open 2021. Even though she got eliminated in the very first round, it turned out to be her last match on tour before getting injured.

Eugenie Bouchard reveals the names of her friends on tour
In a recent interaction with Steve Weissman of Tennis Channel, Bouchard revealed that she is friends with all the girls with whom she grew up and started playing tennis with. Interestingly, she even stated that most of her friends are actually Americans.

“You know, I love all the girls with whom I kind of grew up together with in juniors,” began Bouchard. “So, especially, the ones I would know better would be some of the Canadians, some of the Americans.”

Bouchard discloses that she has known Shelby Rogers for many years

Surprisingly, the Canadian star mentioned that she has known the American Shelby Rogers since her childhood days. Even though she hadn’t seen her for many years, she highlighted that the two hugged each other as soon as they met. She also took the name of former US Open champion Sloane Stephens in her list of friends.
“When I saw Shelby here, I hadn’t seen her for so long. We like, ran into each other’s arms. I have known for like since 12-years-old and then someone like Sloane I am really close with,” added the former Wimbledon runner-up.

Bouchard mentioned that the players that she grew up with on the tour are the ones she’s closest with, since they have shared experiences and moments that wouldn’t be relatable for other people. Eugenie recently provided a promising update about her recovery and hopes to back on the court as soon as possible.
